Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho’s longstanding spat is still ongoing, but former Highbury resident John Jensen claims Wenger is the far superior manager (via Sky Sports).
The Frenchman has a terrible record against Mourinho, but finally got his first win over the Portuguese manager in the Community Shield a few weeks ago. However, Jensen claims despite the fact that the results don’t reflect it, Wenger is a “far better” manager than Mourinho.
“I think he’s got to be, for me, the best manager in the world,” said Jensen.
“By far better than Mourinho, even if he doesn’t have the results. I’ve seen him in training, I really cross my fingers, they deserve to win the league this year.
“I think they are ready to challenge for the title because they’ve got the confidence, they’ve got the players and they’ve got the money as well.”
Chelsea were considered the team to beat before the season started, so our win in the Community Shield was a real morale boosting one. Neither team have gotten off to the best start in the new Premier League campaign however, with just one win and one draw from the first three games.

Wenger splits opinion among Arsenal supporters, with the fan base divided into two camps. Many appreciate what he has done for the club in his years of service, but can’t help feel he has outworn his welcome.
It’s unclear who we’d get to replace the manager, but the increasing number of tactical blunders and his non-movement in the transfer market are seeing calls for his head rise.
Arsenal transfer news
Hopefully Wenger opens his chequebook and brings a player in before the window slams shut, salvaging the season before it’s too late.
