Former Chelsea assistant manager Steve Clarke believes that Jose Mourinho, despite putting on a brave face, is internally suffering at the thought of Petr Cech lining up for us next season, according to talkSPORT.
Mourinho previously voiced his disapproval regarding Cech’s move to the Emirates, but later revealed that Blues owner Roman Abramovich sanctioned the move – which he also accepted.
“It is very rare in football to make a decision like this and for that reason I am proud of my club for making it,” Mourinho told Chelsea’s official website.
However, Clarke sees through the Portuguese manager’s bravado and believes that handing such a world class player to us must be causing an internal conflict.

“He is a great signing for Arsenal.
“I do smile a bit when I see Jose’s comments because I know inside it will be killing him having to sell one of his best players to a title rival.”
Clarke, who has established a credible managerial career since leaving Stamford Bridge, was one of Mourinho’s trusted lieutenants and knows everything about the Chelsea boss.
The magnitude of Cech’s arrival has only heightened in recent weeks, with many voicing their disbelief that the champions have strengthened us in this way, knowing that we’ll be competing for the title.
Hopefully Cech can continue his league success and help deliver the Premier League trophy for us next season.
