Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has once again revealed who he believes we should sign this summer, and claims we should push the boat out to bring Gareth Bale to the Emirates, according to the Express.

Arsenal forward ruled out of Manchester United reunion
The report suggests that the former Tottenham star is unhappy in Spain, and could be on his way back to the Premier League this summer. He has been heavily linked to both Manchester United and Chelsea in the past (via the Daily Star), but Merson believes he would fit in perfectly at Arsenal.
“I think he would fit any club in the world,” Merson said.
“Why not Arsenal?
“You’re getting rid of Theo Walcott, you’ve got a load of money.”
As the Express says, Walcott has been tipped for an Emirates exit come the end of the season. His current contract situation is still unresolved, despite talks allegedly being underway (via Sky Sports). Nothing has been confirmed yet however, so for the moment he is still an Arsenal player.
Bale would unquestionably be a fantastic signing, but it’s hard to see this one happening. He would presumably cost a small fortune, and his wage demands could potentially be astronomical as well. All that on top of the fact that he was a Tottenham player for years, and Merson’s comments start to look more and more ridiculous.
