Former Spurs captain Jamie Redknapp has tipped us to launch a realistic title challenge if we were to land Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, Sky Sports reports.
The noises surrounding Benzema continue to get louder, with Spanish expert Graham Hunter today claiming that a deal to bring the Frenchman to North London was a possibility (via talkSPORT).
Redknapp, while speaking on a live-blog ahead of the new season, claimed that we would be immediately catapulted into challengers for domestic and continental honours should Benzema arrive.

Arsenal transfer rumours
“I know Arsenal fans are pleased with Petr Cech but if they got Benzema they could win the league and go close in the Champions League,” Redknapp told fans on the Sky Sports website.
“I’d like to see them have a real go this year. They have quality players like [Alexis] Sanchez and could be right up there in the Premier League.”

Looking back throughout history, few teams have actually won the Premier League without possessing a player capable of scoring at least 20 goals in the league.
Olivier Giroud, despite his fantastic contributions, is yet to reach that tally as he enters his fourth season with us since arriving from Montpellier.
Benzema is a player with a proven pedigree, and with the number of creative players we would have floating behind him he’d likely thrive in our team.
