Before you get your hopes up, no I’m afraid it’s not Zlatan. With the news that both Mirko Vucinic and Julian Draxler are a no go on the transfer front, Arsenal have apparently begun talks with the ex Lyon man, Kim Källström. With Schalke apparently turning Arsenal off with their refusal to budge on their Draxler valuation, Wenger has turned to Spartak Moscow’s 31 year old Swede to bolster the Gunners ranks.
The midfielder, who has over 100 caps for Sweden, is currently in Abu Dhabi training with his Spartak Moscow team mates. It is unclear whether it’s a permanent move, or a loan move at this time but the DailyMail has reported that long distance talks are ongoing.
With the news that Aaron Ramsey is set to miss another 6 weeks after a recent set back, midfield reinforcements are looking as vital as a back up in the striking department at the moment. While not the ‘top, top, top’ player many will be hoping for, his experience could be a vital addition for us in this year’s title push. We saw the short term impact the likes of Yossi Benayoun added during his loan from Chelsea, Källström could have a similar impact for the Gunners this season in my opinion.
