The Daily Star believe that the Gunners are closing in on the signings of four new players, with Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech and Porto’s Jackson Martinez set to be joined by Arturo Vidal from Juventus and Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.

Where to start with this one?!
Supposedly, Wenger is ready to part with £10m to get the Cech deal over the line. The arrival of the long-time Blues stopper is something that has been rumoured for some time and is a move that would definitely be welcomed among most of our supporters. David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny have both had their good and bad moments this season but you can’t help but think that the addition of a truly world class number one would help aid a potential title bid.
Martinez is an exciting, if far less certain prospect. The Daily Express tell us that the 28-year-old Colombian has a release clause of just under £25m and that is a fee that Arsene Wenger might well consider to be worth parting with, especially when you consider that this is a player who has scored 32 goals this season.
As for Vidal and Schneiderlin, to suggest that we might get both of them seems a little greedy, and very un-Wenger like. We’ve grown used to seeing just one marquee arrival per transfer window – such as Mesut Ozil (2013) and Alexis Sanchez (2014), so to suggest that we could sign three £20m plus players is a bit on the hopeful side.

However, maybe Wenger is finally ready to accept the fact that this sort of spending is necessary if we are to match the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City and maintain a Premier League title bid throughout the entire season, while also continuing to progress in other competitions as well.
What do you reckon Gunners – who out of this quartet of players should be our number one target?
