Manchester United were woeful tonight. How embarrassing it must be for Ramadel Falcao to be replaced by Ashley Young. But in true United fashion, a questionable referee decision handed them a break when they certainly did not deserve it. Chuck in a pathetic Rooney dive and you’ve got yourself an exciting FA Cup quarter final – Arsenal travel to Old Trafford in next months quarter final.
Preston North End looked the more clinical side after they went ahead against a lackluster Red Devils side tonight, but while Rooney was clearly offside and influencing the goalkeepers perception of the shot, Ander Herrera equalized and it was all down hill for the home side from there. It ended 3-1 to United and if they play like they did tonight, Arsenal are going to absolutely batter them.
The Gunners start March with a home tie against Everton then travel (thankfully not very far) to fellow Londoners Queens Park Rangers in midweek. Then they head to Old Trafford on 7th March for the sixth round of the FA Cup in what will be a hectic fortnight for the Gunners.
Time for Arsenal to finally get one over United. This is what the FA Cup is all about.
