Arsenal have been drawn against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup fifth round, and will host the Teesside outfit at Emirates Stadium on the weekend of 14th – 15th February 2015.
We’ve got to be reasonably pleased with that draw – a home tie against a Championship side – but it’s important to remember that Boro beat Manchester City away in the last round.
You’d have to be a pretty good team to manage an incredible feat like beating the Premier League champions at the Etihad Stadium, right?
Without meaning to tempt fate, it’s fair to say that can be quite confident. There are few more in form sides in England at the moment, and we are the current trophy holders.
Perhaps the most pleasing aspect is that we are at home. Last season in claiming the FA Cup, we astonishingly didn’t leave London, and the Emirates is proving something of a fortress.
