Former Arsenal talismanic captain Cesc Fabregas has reiterated his love for the Gunners and has stated he will look to the club that transformed him into a star if he ever left Barcelona.
The midfielder, who spent eight seasons in North London making over 300 appearances, was a vital cog in the Gunners engine room and became one of the clubs all time top midfielders.
He left to his rejoin boyhood club Barca back in the 2011 summer transfer window and since has been linked with a move back to the Emirates after an up and down start. He has since gone on establish himself as an integral part of the Catalan sides set up.
Wenger had claimed his former captain would one day make a return to his old stomping ground, describing the midfielder as “an Arsenal man”. But reports earlier this month had twisted the intentions of an interview the Spaniard gave, suggesting he would not rejoin Arsenal.
But when questioned once again by Skysports on whether the 25-year-old would indeed move back to London he responded:
I haven’t spoken to him [Wenger] about that but it’s good news for me that he says things like this because I was sad when I left.
When I spoke with him I was happy in a way because I was able to shake his hand and look him in the eye. I would have never forgiven myself if I left in a bad way. [It’s an] amazing club that has given me everything.

I’m just happy they have a good memory of me. Who knows? In the future I don’t know if I will come back to Arsenal.
If one day I have to leave Barcelona, probably the first thing I will look into is Arsenal, but at the moment I’m very happy here. I could not think of a better team for me.
For me [London] is the best city in the world. I love London, for me it’s an amazing city.
While many Gooners may not feel Cesc’s words are not valuable for transfer gossip or current Arsenal news, his love for the club and London is exactly what we need to hear. Both Victor Valdez and more importantly David Villa have been linked with a move to the Gunners this summer, so the influence of Fabregas could prove instrumental in persuading future Arsenal transfer targets.
