It’s here…The 2014 summer transfer deadline day will no doubt keep us hitting F5 or glued to Sky Sports all day and hopefully it should be a fruitful day for the Gunners.
Yesterday’s lack of penetration and composure in front of goal certainly outlined the lack of depth we have up front with Olivier Giroud injured. With the fans calls for a striker signing will Arsene Wenger react? Not to mention the priority of a defender?
One of the most talked about strikers this summer has been Ramadel Falcao. The Monaco centre forward has been on the likes of Manchester City, United and Chelsea wanted lists in England but Arsenal seem the most desperate of the lot for the striker.
Another big obstacle has always been Real Madrid who have been linked with the Colombia international for some time. But the La Liga outfit look set to seal a loan move for Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez, so does this leave the path clear for the Gunners?
After Arsenal missed out on Loic Remy yesterday despite a late bid, Chelsea appear well stocked now while they have to be careful of FFP, as do City. If Wenger can conceive to break the Gunners transfer record for the second consecutive summer then we may actually have a shot at securing the prolific striker.
