Reports in Spain indicate that FC Barcelona have abandoned their pursuit of Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin who is set to stay in North London (via The Metro).
The incomings in the Arsenal squad have been excellent during this transfer window thus far and now it is time for some players to make way.
The Gunners need to offload some fringe players for as much money as possible while keeping hold of their key stars like Hector Bellerin.
Arsenal’s determination to keep hold of Bellerin has been tested in recent months by interest from FC Barcelona.
Bellerin’s former club are reportedly very interested in signing the Spaniard and there have been reports of a number of bids for the youngster.
All of those have been turned down and it seems that FC Barcelona are giving up on their pursuit of the Arsenal man who made 41 appearances for Arsenal last season.

Spanish publication Sport is reporting that the Spanish giants are now looking at other targets, claiming that the club no longer believes Bellerin is good enough for the La Liga side.
It seems like a pretty poor excuse to justify a failed pursuit. Bellerin was good enough to play for Barcelona last month when the Spanish side were reportedly trying to sign the right-back. Still, it’s good that Arsenal have held firm and kept hold of a key player. Now all that’s left is for the Gunners to do the same thing with Alexis Sanchez.
