Whilst we’ve improved in this area over the past 18 months, if there was ever a time to display ruthlessness in the transfer market then this summer is it. This is mainly due to our squad being almost complete and with the season starting earlier than usual next term, we must move swiftly.
Too many times, as evident last summer, we’ve let the market dictate our actions. Whilst the champions-elect secured Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas’s signatures before the World Cup, we waited until after the tournament to secure our deals.
