We currently have fantastic depth in a number of areas, so much so that some truly talented players may struggle for game time next season. Arsene Wenger will have some seriously difficult decisions to make ahead of the 2015/16 campaign, and the players will be looking to make those decisions a little easier with their pre-season performances.
Below we’ve listed five key battles that could shape our starting XI:
5) Hector Bellerin v Mathieu Debuchy
Hector Bellerin enjoyed a fantastic breakout season in 2014/15, and his timely emergence gave us a much needed boost following injuries suffered by Debuchy.

The Frenchman will no doubt now have a difficult time wrestling a starting spot back off the young Spaniard, as Bellerin has proved himself to be a top quality right-back.
It would seem unfair to drop the 20-year-old considering he hasn’t put a foot wrong, so Debuchy will have to impress in pre-season if he wants to start the season as first choice.
