Former Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that the imminent signing of Petr Cech will transform us into genuine title challengers due to our overdue need for a top goalkeeper, the Daily Mail reports.
With reports suggesting that a fee has been agreed with Chelsea and personal terms have also been ironed out with Cech, it seems as though an announcement from either club is imminent (via Sky Sports).
The fact that we’re snatching a player from a main rival who will considerably strengthen our squad is unprecedented, and Redknapp is certainly aware of the boost this gives our club.
Arsenal transfer rumours
“It’s a great signing,” the former Spurs boss told the Daily Mail.
“I think it’s a massive signing. To have top quality goalkeeper is massive.

“I think Arsenal could now be the biggest challengers to Chelsea next season, particularly with maybe two more signings.”
There is a respected notion that a top goalkeeper can save a team 15 points a season and if that is the reality, it could be the tweak we need to topple Chelsea next season.
Cech’s first appearance will likely be in the Community Shield against his former club at Wembley in August, where a win would give us an almighty psychological boost ahead of the new campaign.
