The squad for our pre-season tour of Asia has been announced (via Arsenal.com), and there are a number of young faces on the list. Some are already promising looking Arsenal talents, while a couple are relative unknowns.
“You will see Jeff Reine-Adelaide, who we just brought in. We’ll see Chris Willock, Alex Iwobi, Gedion Zelalem and I don’t count Chuba Akpom, who is already with us. We’ll have a few good, young players who have a very good talent and are very promising,” Wenger said (via Arsenal.com).
Here’s a bit of information on each of the young stars headed to Asia:
- Report claims Arsenal to be snubbed by playmaker for transfer to rivals Everton
- Arsenal weighing up double swoop to reunite Traorè brothers in north London
- Arsenal keen to land €100m-priced striker who rejected move to Gunners in 2017
The young Frenchman is new at the club, with Arsene Wenger only recently acquiring his signature.
He brought him to the club from RC Lens, with the 17-year-old arriving off the back of winning the European U17s Championship.
Reine-Adelaide is an attack-minded forward, who so far has been used largely as a wide player. Arsene Wenger is known for bringing versatile players to the club and retraining them to be deployed in new roles, and this young star could well be another experiment of his.
“He’s an offensive player but he can develop into an all-round midfielder as well. At the moment he plays on the right or left but I think he can develop as a central midfielder as well,” Wenger continued (via Arsenal.com).
