Galatasaray are planning a surprise £16 million summer bid for Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck, according to The Sun.
The report claims the Turkish side are willing to offer Arsenal £16m, the same amount they paid Manchester United for the England international, and can afford his wages.
Welbeck is reportedly contemplating his future at the club, largely due to the uncertainty surrounding Arsene Wenger’s future and whether he will stay on.
However, it seem highly unlikely that Welbeck would leave the club for Galatasaray, particularly after working so hard to get back into the team after injury, or that Arsenal would be willing to accept just £16m for the 26-year–old.
Welbeck’s Arsenal career has been ravaged by injuries but having successfully returned from knee surgery, there is hope that he can now enjoy an injury-free run and prove his undoubted potential.
The former United man was on target against his former side in the 2-0 win at the Emirates on Sunday and also started Wednesday’s win over Southampton.

Welbeck’s return to action has given Arsenal as extra dimension up front and his versatility is also a boost for the Gunners as they aim to secure a top four finish.
Wins over United and Southampton have reignited Arsenal’s hopes of securing Champions League football next season as they prepare for their final three games against Stoke, Sunderland and Everton.
