Arsenal’s star-in-the making Serge Gnabry scored a glorious goal in Arsenal Under-21’s 3-2 loss to Liverpool at Anfield.
The Gunners starlet-studded side battled in the pulsating match which saw Steve Gatting’s side equalize twice, however it wasn’t meant to be as the Merseysiders clinched the winner with over 15 minutes to play.
Wojciech Szczesny was the most experienced campaigner on the field, and as he has failed to feature for the first-team in over a month, he got a run out for the U21 side however he conceded three but could do little to prevent any.
Arsenal featured the likes of Nico Yennaris and Kris Olsson in central midfield while the highly-rated German youth international Gedion Zelalem, dubbed ‘the next Fabregas’ made his debut in midfield alongside compatriots Thomas Eisfeld and Gnabry.
Adam Morgan struck first for Liverpool but Chuba Akpom, who has been in devastating form this season, equalized shortly after. Krisztian Adorjan restored the lead on the hour before Serge Gnabry’s superb leveler (see below) breathed fresh hope for the young Gunners.
