Matteo Guendouzi has claimed that Arsenal is “the club of his heart” in an interview with French media (via Sport Witness).
He’s been a pleasant surprise for Arsenal this season as Matteo Guendouzi has continued to impress for the Gunners.
The 19-year-old Frenchman arrived as a relative unknown but is one of just a handful of Arsenal players to have started every match this season.
The former Lorient man has since given an interview, in which he claimed a real love for the club.
“It’s the club of my heart, the one I support since I was a kid,” Guendouzi said of Arsenal.
“I grew up watching videos of Vieira, Henry and the others with my father. French players who made history. When I knew the club was interested to bring me in, I didn’t hesitate.”

Guendouzi was then asked about his ambitions to play for the French national team, amidst a real golden generation of players.
“For now, I’m focused on my goals with Arsenal. I’m not rushing things. They will happen if they happen, but obviously, it’s a dream for me.
“I’m going to do everything to get there one day. If I do it, it’ll be amazing.”
Matteo Guendouzi has already proven to be an excellent signing for Arsenal. The French youngster has taken to the Premier League with ease and will surely develop into a real international star.
