Arsenal have been dealt another damaging blow in our reported pursuit of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema after Spanish football expert Guillem Balague stated that the Frenchman will not depart this summer.
For those asking: no chance whatsoever of Benzema leaving Real Madrid this summer (so no way he will go to Arsenal)

Benzema was reportedly Arsene Wenger’s No.1 transfer target (via El Confidencial) following the arrival of Petr Cech earlier on in the window, but it seems as thought the boss will be frustrated in his efforts.
Despite the number of options we have in the forward positions, the opportunity of adding a world-class option would’ve clearly been appealing to Wenger.
Olivier Giroud has led the line admirably over the past few years but has fallen short of developing into the top class striker needed when aiming to win the Premier League.

The shortage of elite options available in that position around Europe could mean that we’re set to enter the new season with the squad we currently have, something which will disappoint a large section of fans.
A holding midfielder and an elite striker would’ve completed our squad and should we fall short next summer, we will once again refer back to the recruitment policy at the club as a reason for our disappointment.
