Arsenal fan favourite Emmanuel Petit has urged Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe to join Arsene Wenger and his former club (via The Daily Star).
Kylian Mbappe is perhaps the most coveted player in European football right now. The 18-year-old is the envy of almost every manager of the biggest clubs thanks to his incredible breakthrough season at Monaco.
The Frenchman scored 26 goals for the French champions last season including six in the Champions League.
PSG, Chelsea and Real Madrid are reportedly the big favourites but former France international Emmanuel Petit has urged Mbappe to leave Monaco for Arsenal – just like he did back in 1997.
“Mbappe is the leader of this generation,” he told talkSPORT.
“I would love it (for him to join Arsenal). I remember two years ago we had almost the same example as Martial.

“Martial was very good the first months with Manchester United and since Mourinho has managed the team he’s not in the same position anymore. It’s a risk.
“Talent is something very important in football but you need to have confidence as well from team-mates and your manager.
“You have to be tough and strong in your mind.”
Emmanuel Petit would certainly know a thing or two about that. He spent just three seasons at Highbury but his midfield partnership with Patrick Vieira is still fondly remembered by Arsenal fans.
Hopefully, Kylian Mbappe will heed the advice of the former Monaco and Arsenal man who, coincidentally left the Ligue 1 side just a few months after helping them win the French title. Mbappe is in a similar position and Arsenal fans will be hoping the forward makes the same decision as Petit did twenty years ago.
