According to Le10Sport, Arsenal have turned to buying St Etienne’s versatile defensive midfielder Josuha Guilavogui after missing out on Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye.
Guilavogui, who is set to turn 23 next week is “not certain to cut his birthday cake” with the Ligue One side as speculation mounts over the French international’s future.
The Patrick Vieira-esk combative midfielder can play as a holding central midfielder or as a centre back if required and would help bolster Arsenal’s engine room alongside new free signing Mathieu Flamini.
St Etienne have already sold Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Borussia Dortmund for £11m and are reported to be willing to sell Guilavogui also to fund new arrivals.
The midfielder who has played for France in matches against Uruguay, Brazil and Belguim fits Wenger’s bill of a young, cheap player that is versatile.

Personally I have not seen too much of the youngster who is held in high esteem in his homeland. But Arsenal need a Vieira type player to help shield the back four.
Arsenal do need numbers so bring him in Wenger!
