Guillem Balague, who is usually reliable source, has tweeted that Real Madrid have accepted a bid from Arsenal for Álvaro Morata. Wenger’s interest in the 21 year old has been no secret this window, but Morata seemed content to stay in the Spanish capital, and Madrid seemed unwilling to let him go; on loan or otherwise. But perhaps seeing that Jesé is still ahead of him in the pecking order, Morata wishes to find playing time elsewhere.
While certainly not the prolific striker Arsenal need just yet, he is certainly a top quality player with bags of potential. He would definitely provide good back up to Olivier Giroud, and depending on the nature of the deal could prove a quality addition.
This may just prove to be a nothing rumour, but the fact that this kind of news is still appearing certainly suggests that Arsene Wenger is still on the lookout for a striking addition.
