Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has reserved special praise for Mesut Ozil and claimed that when the German wizard is on song, he’s very difficult to contain, he told Arsenal Player.
Speaking at last week’s kit launch, Henry touched on the fact that Ozil’s creative powers are dependent on those in front of him and cited his performances when deployed behind quick players such as Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
After an injury-ravaged first half of the campaign, Ozil returned leaner and more robust following the turn of the year and we certainly saw his best form since arriving in 2013.

“He is an amazing player,” Henry told our in-house media channel.
“When he is on song like he was in the FA Cup final, he is difficult to stop.

“When you have the likes of Giroud in the box, Alexis Sanchez running at people and Theo too, Mesut can see a pass and control the game in the same way that Santi does.”
Henry’s comments about Ozil are quite bizarre considering that he gave the World Cup winner a grilling after our goalless draw against Chelsea in April.
“I will single out Mesut Ozil, who made his eighth appearance against a top-four team today,” the Frenchman said (via The Independent).
“Zero goals, two assists. That is not enough. Since joining Arsenal, he has 14 assists.”
The timing of the rant was odd and it seemed as though our record goalscorer was under pressure from his employees to create headlines by attacking his beloved Arsenal.
Ozil is set for his first pre-season with us this summer which will hopefully allow him to build up a base of fitness in order to continue the form throughout next season.
