We have recently been linked with a move for Gonzalo Higuain, but looked as though we may lose out to Manchester United. We have received a massive boost though, with Napoli legend Jose Alberti claiming the Argentine forward is Emirates bound, as reported by the Metro.

Arsenal rumours
Our links to Higuain stretch way back (via The Guardian), as we came close to signing him back in 2013. We were pipped at the post by Napoli, but the Metro claims he could be on his way out of the Serie A side this summer.
They have failed to secure Champions League football, which is a massive draw for any top footballer. Alberti claims this is the main reason he is looking for an exit, and believes a deal to bring him to Arsenal is 90% done.
“I’m 90% sure he will go to Arsenal,” he said.
“The contract could be a minimum of £3.6million-a-year.

“It’s not possible that he will remain at Napoli this year after they missed out on the Champions League.”
Higuain is a top quality forward, and scores goals wherever he goes. The former Real Madrid star would definitely add something to our side, and would offer a totally different dimension to Olivier Giroud.
Let’s hope we secure the South American, as if we do not, our chances of competing with Chelsea for the title in 2015/16 will be diminished.
