After losing key figures Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri as well as several trophyless seasons, Arsenal started this campaign very slowly languishing in the bottom half of the table after a series of disappointing results.
But of late the Gunners have experienced a huge revival winning nine from their previous ten Premier League games leaving them with a firm grip on third position.
Arsene, as a result, has won back many fans to the delight of chairman Peter Hill-Wood who has expressed his desire for Arsene to stay beyond his contract, which is due to expire in June 2014.
Hill-Wood said to The Daily Mirror on Wenger:
For him to stay longer than that would be perfect. I can’t think of anybody better to run the team.
And he has shown how much rubbish people were talking earlier this season. We had a terrible run of injuries and that obviously had an effect.

But a few mindless people were saying that he had to go, that Arsene was past his sell-by date. He has shown that is nonsense.
He has a young squad, with some excellent young players. He is building a young team with a great future and I am sure he would love to see them develop.
I would want him to stay as long as he is happy here. He has been with us 14 years and has done a magnificent job.
I want him to stay for the long-term and I see no reason at all why he should want to go.
I must say that the team Arsene is currently building looks very strong, particularly the starting back five who have been the backbone of Arsenal’s recent revival. But there are still areas of Arsenal that need to be rectified, such as getting rid of dead-weight players. But for now it looks like Arsenal are finally back 0n the right track!
