How good is Loic Remy? Now before you become very defensive, I need you to know that I am asking this question from a very innocent point of view. I would rather YOU as an Arsenal fan to tell me how good he is. In order to answer the above question, I need to you to be objective and to know how many check boxes you can tick in his favour…okay?
How quick is he?
There is a lot of talk about Loic Remy’s speed but is he Theo Walcott quick or…Tomas Rosicky(good acceleration but not blistering quick). Tomas Rosicky is quick but has to rely on his passing skills to create a chance as he will not outran three defenders unlike Thierry Henry who relied more on his speed to burst past players. Please note when we talk about speed, we are talking about both acceleration and speed over a longer distance.
Is he clinical?
Thierry Henry ended his Arsenal career as top scorer complete with stunning, extraordinary goals. However, he was never clinical (chances converted per game). Thierry Henry could create his own chances, come out of games with hat-tricks and definitely improved his finishing later in his career but he was never clinical missing a lot of chances on a game.

Filippo Inzaghi was clinical. The striker Sir Alex Ferguson described as been born offside was clinical. He would be caught offside more than ten times in a game but the one time he would be onside…bang…goal! People say they never saw him miss a one on one chance. Now that is clinical.
What are his strengths and weaknesses?
Is he ambidextrous like Santi Carzola, using both feet to equal effect, or is he as predictable as Arjen Robben cutting in on his favourite left foot? Is he as strong in the air as Didier Drogba or is he more likely to duck when he gets a chance? Can he create his own chances or does he have to wait for other players to create chances for him?
How does he compare to our rivals strikers?
We are all aware what Diego Costa is capable of and now that he will be plying his trade in the Premier League with Chelsea, all of their rivals will have sat up and taken notice. What are the chances Loic Remy will have the same effect or is there a stronger chance his Arsenal career will end with a whimper?
There is a very high possibility Loic Remy will end up at Arsenal or Liverpool and I really hope he will be an improvement on Olivier Giroud who I like very much. So, if as an Arsenal fan, you can be objective and can tick all the boxes above, then I will be very happy that he is coming.
