Ian Wright has admitted he hopes Arsenal “absolutely smash” Tottenham in the north London derby on Sunday at the Emirates.
The Gunners go into the game in great form, unbeaten since the opening day and on the back of a morale-boosting 3-2 win over Ludogorets in the Champions League in midweek.
Spurs, meanwhile, are struggling for form and slipped to defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men also without a couple of key men for the clash.
Wright is in confident mood ahead of game and feels the Gunners have what it takes to win the game and move six points clear of their bitter rivals.
“I really want them to hammer Spurs and absolutely smash them! Arsenal have goals in their team – they are feeling confident and flying,” he told The Sun.
“Top players like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are in inspirational form. There are goals everywhere in the team.”

Spurs have been boosted by the return to fitness of striker Harry Kane but Wright feels he may be rushed back into the team too soon due to their recent lack of goals.
“And because Vincent Janssen hasn’t been scoring for Tottenham, it doesn’t give Harry Kane the time to stay on the sidelines and get himself right,” he added.
“The pressure will be on Kane when he comes back because the team need to start scoring goals.”
Arsenal, and particularly Ozil and Sanchez, are in great form ahead of the derby and with Theo Walcott set to return and fit-again Olivier Giroud also an option, the Tottenham defence look to be in for a busy afternoon.
