Arsenal legend Ian Wright is currently in Singapore promoting our trip there this summer for the Barclays Asia Trophy, alongside fellow Premier League clubs Everton and Stoke City, Fox Sports Asia reports.
Since 2011, we’ve embarked on a number of tours, prominently in South-East Asia and the club is set to return there this pre-season after a two-year absence.
Off the back of the euphoria surrounding the US national team’s performance at the World Cup, our trip to New York last summer was a convenient one.

However, Singapore remains our only destination ahead of our preparations for next season and Wright believes Arsene Wenger will take a full squad – and potential new signings – in order to win the trophy.
“We could finish second in the league, win the FA Cup [they face Aston Villa in the final on May 30] and hopefully sign a few players to coincide with coming out here to Singapore,” Wright was quoted as saying.

“I’m really quite excited about the tournament and it is exciting for our Asian fans. We have some top players at the club and it will be great for our fans in Asia, where we have a good following,”
The only doubts surrounding the first team squad regarding their participation in the pre-season tournament remains our South American stars, who will be busy competing in the Copa America this summer.
Therefore Alexis Sanchez and David Ospina would probably miss out given that the tournament starts on July 15th and the final of the Copa America will be played on July 4th.
Arsene Wenger likes to give players a four-week break during the summer and in the case of Alexis, he certainly needs an extended breather if he’s to recreate the levels he’s produced this season.
