Manchester City poised to test Arsenal’s resolve with a mega money bid for Jack Wilshere
The report claims that the veteran Spaniard has already decided on a move to North London, and goes on to say that he has been in contact with Arsene Wenger regarding the decision.
The 33-year-old has always been a fan favourite in Madrid, but has fallen from grace somewhat in recent seasons. His performances have slipped slightly, and some high profile mistakes have seen him heavily scrutinised. He is still a fantastic shot-stopper though, and would bring a huge amount of experience to the club.
Despite the World Cup winner having two seasons remaining on his current contract, The Sun report that we may even be able to get him for free. Los Blancos are allegedly willing to terminate his contract, on the caveat that he doesn’t demand any kind of pay off.
Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina are excellent keepers, and are both excellent second choice goaltenders. We could still arguably get a far better No.1 however, and Casillas may prove to be an excellent acquisition – especially if we get him for free.
