NBA star Carmelo Anthony was in attendance for our 2-0 victory against Stoke City on Saturday and told the club’s official Instagram page that he was now a “Gooner”.
Anthony, who currently plays for the New York Knicks, was enjoying his time in London and clearly felt a need to visit the most glamorous football stadium in the country.
The 31-year-old was treated to a spectacle at the Emirates Stadium after we produced our most convincing performance so far this season with Stoke City finding it difficult to contain our vibrant attack.
Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez missed a number of chances in the first half with the latter hitting the woodwork twice during the opening exchanges of the game.

We eventually took the lead through Walcott and our defensive security was rarely tested with Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel forming a decent partnership.
