Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has been named as the best newcomer in the Premier League this season by former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher in the Sky Sports Monday Night Football end of season awards, as the table at the bottom of this piece shows.
In the last MNF of the season, Carragher and Gary Neville were asked to state their choices in a number of categories and the Liverpool icon named Alexis as his star introduction to the Premier League.
It’s hardly a difficult choice too, Alexis has scored 24 goals in all competitions and is on course to land an FA Cup trophy in his first season.
The Chilean’s infectious work-rate and unrivalled dedication to the team has captured the fans and Pep Guardiola’s comments about him now seem fitting.

Signed from Barcelona last summer, the quality of their forward line is highlighted considering they’re able to let a player of Alexis’s talents depart.
Despite operating on the left, his sheer volume of goals and assists has mesmerised many and we could see Wenger revert to his original plan and play Alexis through the middle.
He has all the attributes to operate in that role, but must curb his natural instinct which is to get drawn towards the ball and instead make runs in the opposite direction.
Alexis showed signs of these qualities against Hull City earlier this month and his relationship with Mesut Ozil looks to have elevated to new heights.
The frightening thing is, he’s yet to reach his peak!
