Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny took to his Facebook page to confirm that he will stay with us next season which could have massive implications on our transfer plans.
Talk has been rife that we’re set to move for Chelsea shot-stopper Petr Cech this summer with Arsene Wenger looking for a top-class option between the sticks. (via the Mirror).
Szczesny kept a clean sheet in our FA Cup final victory against Aston Villa and produced a commanding performance in the air to nullify the threat of Christain Benteke.
However, the Polish international has always been criticised for his lack of concentration when we’re dominating possession and he’s suddenly called into action. The fact that Villa didn’t register a shot on target yesterday denied us a chance to see if Szczesny had improved that side of his game.

“And a big well done to the media who almost managed to convince people that I could actually leave my home and the people I love! Well, you’re gonna have to put up with me for many many years,” Szczesny posted on his Facebook page.
Despite the euphoria of winning another FA Cup and cementing our place in history, we simply cannot go into next season with our current goalkeeping options.
We lack a dominant No.1 and the fact that Wenger was indecisive regarding who would start between the sticks in a major cup final illustrates that.
Every title-winning side over the past decade has possessed a dominant goalkeeper and we must acquire one this summer.
