Arsenal’s forgotten man Wellington Silva finally joined up with the first-team squad for pre-season after work permit problems meant that he was forced to go on loan for the last few seasons.
Silva was signed by Arsene Wenger in 2010, shelling out £3.5million to prise the winger away from Fluminese following some rave reviews (via The Telegraph).
Now 21 years old, Silva was handed his work permit in October after spending last season on loan at La Liga side Almeria.
Silva was likened to Barcelona star Neymar at a very young age due to his expansive nature, with the Brazilian not afraid to pull off various tricks during a match.

Silva may have picked up some bad habits during that time which the boss may deem irreversible and thus show him the exit door.
Having said that, the amazing rise of Francis Coquelin will give Silva hope that he can convince Wenger that he has what it takes to succeed at this level.
