Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez took part in full training with the first team squad this weekend and, speaking after the session, manager Arsene Wenger refused to rule him out of Sunday’s game.
So, is the Chilean is in line for a shock inclusion? Alexis returned from his extended break on Wednesday after helping Chile win the Copa America on home soil, and Wenger was rather evasive when asked if the 26-year-old could realistically make the squad.
“We have to decide that at the end of the week, but I don’t think he will be involved,” the manager said when asked about Alexis (via the Daily Mail).
We’ve come to expect the unexpected when it comes to Alexis, but this would reach new heights such is his sensational appetite for the game.
Alexis netted the winning penalty for his country in their victory against Argentina last month and his return to our squad is another sign of the strength in depth available to the boss.

With the likes of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain excelling, the imminent returns of Alexis and Danny Welbeck gives us great options in the forward positions.
It will be interesting to see if Wenger decides to name Alexis on the bench at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
