Images of Granit Xhaka in an Arsenal shirt at a photoshoot have been leaked online, with the Swiss international essentially confirmed as a Gunner ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
The 23-year-old has long been linked with an Arsenal switch (via the BBC), but obviously it’s very difficult to confirm these reports until something concrete is released from one of the clubs involved. We’re yet to receive anything official from Arsenal or Borussia Monchengladbach, but these images are as good as any confirmation we could get from either club.

There have been a number of hints in recent weeks that a move was close, with Xhaka’s social media activity suggesting to many that he was on his way to the Emirates (via the Daily Star). It seemed as though we were going to have to wait for confirmation until closer to the transfer window opening however, with both clubs remaining tight lipped on any potential transfer.

Only a catastrophe could seemingly keep Xhaka from trotting out as an Arsenal player next season now though, and he looked delighted to be signing for Arsenal FC (except maybe in that first picture where he looks a little grumpy).
With the exits expected at Arsenalt this summer, Arsene Wenger unquestionably needed to step up and make some changes at the club. The signing of Xhaka is a fantastic start, and hopefully we see a couple more faces through the door before the window slams shut.
Arsenal transfer news
We once again fell short of challenging for the Premier League title this season, and next year will be Wenger’s last chance. It would be great to see the Frenchman go out with a bang, so fingers crossed he gets it right in the transfer market.
