Petr Cech has shown that he is a real man of the people, by taking a rammed rush hour train home, as reported by the Mirror.
The Arsenal faithful, and especially the old timers, must reminisce about the time when a fan could bump into his footballing hero at the local watering hole. While that may not be the case any more with wages being astronomically high for footballers, Arsenal keeper Petr Cech is battling the image of the millionaire footballer by going against the grain.

The picture was posted by Alan Alger, who says he sourced it from another Arsenal fan, and understandably the picture took fans by surprise. The former Chelsea man joined Arsenal during the summer transfer window last year, and because he came from Chelsea, some Arsenal fans found it a bit harder to rejoice his signing quite as much. Halfway through the season though, Petr Cech has surpassed all expectations by saving the team points on a number of occasions – making world class saves against quality opposition such as Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

His heroics between the sticks were always going to make him an Arsenal fan favorite sooner rather than later, and this picture seems like it’s only going to help Cech cement his legend status among fans. Arsenal supporters will be delighted to be able call the Czech international one of their own, and he is proving himself to be a true man of the people.
