Winston Reid is reportedly one of Arsenal’s top transfer targets for the January window. His status as an established Premier League centre back and his unwillingness to sign a new deal at West Ham United with his current contract set to expire this summer suggest a move could be on the cards.
The New Zealand international would command a relatively low price considering he has little time left on his contract but most importantly is someone who can slot straight into the Gunners first team set up and compete with the likes of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker – not to mention his ability to fill in at right back.
With the transfer window in full swing, and Arsenal bringing in their customary youngster ‘prodigy’ signing without address the actual issues that are presented before them, we took to Photoshop to visualise what one of our top targets could look like in a Gunners shirt.
Here is the photoshop mockup of Reid in an Arsenal shirt:
- Agent of exiled Mesut Ozil warns Arsenal that the truth will be revealed
- Arsenal overtaken by new frontrunners to sign Houssem Aouar in January
- Ex-Arsenal star favouring a move to America’s MLS to restart career
Reid would be an excellent signing and at 26-years-old he still has years ahead of him to develop even further. The New Zealand captain has enjoyed a rapid rise to fame since the 2010 World Cup that put him in the shop window and has been integral in the Hammers impressive campaign so far.
