Despite a number of positive changes from Arsene Wenger, fans were somewhat disappointed when the teamsheet to face Newcastle was announced, with Mesut Özil a noticeable absentee.
The World Cup winner was left out of the squad with a knee injury (via the Mirror), and consequently missed our last game before the international break.
Arsenal fans were hoping it would only be one game he missed, and it seems like we’ll get our wish after pictures emerged of him training with the German squad ahead of their clash with Poland.

Hopefully Joachim Löw doesn’t rush him back, and he returns to the Emirates fully fit and ready for our clash with Stoke City. The German’s creativity often goes unnoticed, but he has become a hugely important cog in the Arsenal machine.
