Hector Bellerin looks set to return to the team after a spell on the sidelines, with the Spaniard taking part in full training ahead of our trip to West Bromwich Albion. The stats show just how much we’ve missed the 20-year-old, with our win percentage differing hugely with and without the young right-back.
He’s been absolutely superb since forcing his way into the team last season, making the most of Mathieu Debuchy’s absences and seeing off competition from Calum Chambers to make the starting spot his own.
Our win rate has been excellent with him in the side, which shows just how important he’s become.
Since he broke into the team he’s played 30 games, with 14 clean sheets in total. We’ve won 70% (21 games) of the matches he was involved in, drawing 17% (5) and losing just 13% (4).
In stark contrast, our win-rate without the attack-minded full-back is a disappointing 45% (9 games), with 30% (6) draws and 25% (5) losses.
Obviously defensive stability is about far more than just Bellerin, and the entire team deserves praise for our defensive record this season. We’ve conceded just nine goals in the Premier League so far this campaign, despite constant questions raised over our defensive quality.

Although it is impossible to attribute our defensive success to one man however, you can’t argue with these stats. He is unquestionably one of the best right-backs in the league at the moment, and will be a huge part of any success we’re hoping to have this season.
