It has been reported by The Mirror that Arsenal are to offer young star Jack Wilshere a new an improved contract that will keep him at the Emirates until 2016.
It was only recently Wilshere signed a long term contract, in November of last year, where he was to become one of the most highly paid 18 year olds earning £40,000 a week in a deal that enlisted his services at Arsenal until 2015.
Although already earning such a significant contract improvement, his extraordinary achievements last season have seen Arsenal consider introducing an even better contract in order to reflect his new found importance at the club. This includes a £10,000 pay rise a week and commitment to Arsenal until 2016.
Wilshere’s recent achievements include gaining a regular and important spot in the Gunners starting squad and even regular call-ups to England’s international side, where he has greatly impressed against the likes of Barcelona in the Champions League and was rated by many as man of the match in the 2-2 draw with Switzerland.
While players such as Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas mull over their future at the Emirates, Arsenal are keen to ensure Wilshere stays committed to the club by showing how highly they rate him. Surely amidst all these rumours about very influential players in our midfield, it is great that Arsenal can count on Wilshere to stay totally committed to the club!
