Brace yourselves, because you’re about to hear a stat that you won’t believe, a stat that you’re going to want to verify, a stat that when you hear it you’re going to think ‘surely not?’.
Mathieu Flamini has never lost a Premier League game at the Emirates… ever.
The Frenchman is currently in his seventh season at the club – split across two separate spells – but is still yet to lose a single game at the Emirates (via the Metro).
Sunday’s substitute appearance against Tottenham was his 50th appearance at the Emirates, and was yet another non-loss for the 31-year-old. He has a record of 34 wins and 16 losses, statistics few would have believed before reading this.
Many questioned Arsene Wenger’s choice to bring Flamini back to the club for a second time, but it initially proved an excellent bit of business. He was superb when he first returned to the Emirates, and was hugely important before the rise of Francis Coquelin.
