Arsenal v Everton
Barclays Premier League
Emirates Stadium
Kick off: December 08, 2013 4:00 PM BST
The Gunners extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points after a battling 1-1 draw with Everton at Emirates.
Arsene Wenger’s side were often on the back foot but the defence held strong with an especially strong performances from Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.
Mesut Ozil fired the Gunners in front after some smart play from substitutes Tomas Rosicky and Theo Walcott, however Barcelona loanee Gerard Deulefeu equalized emphatically four minutes later.
A draw appeared a fair result, however Olivier Giroud was denied the greatest goal of his Arsenal career in the final minute after a stunning volley crashed onto the crossbar with Howard well beaten.
The likes of United, Chelsea and City all dropped points over the weekend, so the result can definitely be seen as a point gained rather dropping two points.
