We’ve received a bit of a blow ahead of the Community Shield, with Chelsea announcing that two of their first-team stars are going to be fit for the clash. Diego Costa and Gary Cahill were doubts for the game, but Chelsea’s official Twitter account suggests that both men are available for the match.

It would have been a distinct advantage for us were we to face a Chelsea side without their starting striker and one of their first-team centre-backs, so on the one hand it’s a shame to hear they are fighting fit.
On the other hand, if we are going to beat Chelsea for the first time under Jose Mourinho, wouldn’t it be better we were facing a full strength side?
We will be without a few key players of our own, with Alexis Sanchez yet to return from the extended holiday he was given following his involvement in the Copa America (via the BBC), while Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky are still out injured (via Arsenal.com).

It should still be a fantastic game though, and could be a pace setter for the season to come. Chelsea are the team to beat, and we could really set a marker down with a win this Sunday.
