Arsenal have suffered yet another injury blow with reports that Olivier Giroud could miss Saturday’s trip to Stamford Bridge to face league leaders Chelsea due to injury.
The Times report that the France international picked up an ankle problem during Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Watford, and that was why he was replaced by Theo Walcott at half-time.
Giroud is now battling to be fit to face Antonio Conte’s side with Arsenal in desperate need of a win and hoping to do the double over the Blues after comfortably beating them 3-0 in September.
After a slow start to the season Giroud has forced his way into the first team and has 10 goals for the season already.
However, Arsenal may have to make do without the striker and will also be without Aaron Ramsey after he suffered a calf problem against Watford and looks to be out of the Chelsea clash.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is another player struggling although Wenger confirmed after the match that he expected him to be fit for the game.

Should Giroud indeed miss out, Wenger does have plenty of options with Danny Welbeck fit again although he may opt to put Alexis Sanchez back in a central role where he thrived earlier this season.
The return to fitness of Theo Walcott will also be a boost for the Gunners, the England international replaced Giroud on Tuesday and improved the side after a dreadful first-half display.
A win for Arsenal would give the club a huge boost and cut the gap at the top to six points and the report also claims Wenger has changed his approach for the match giving his players two days off.
The decision means the players will only have one full session on the pitch on Friday to prepare for the crucial fixture, while Chelsea are reportedly training every day.
