We’ve received a late boost ahead of our Champions League second leg against AS Monaco, with the news that January signing Gabriel Paulista has been included in the squad, as reported on Arsenal’s official website.
The Brazilian has been out since the beginning of March, suffering a hamstring injury during our 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers.
He was expected to miss the trip to Monaco, but has been included in the squad at the last minute.
The centre-back replaces Chuba Akpom in the squad, while Tomas Rosicky also misses out.
“Gabriel travelled and is available. Chamberlain did not travel, Rosicky did not travel, he comes back from sickness,” Wenger is quoted as saying.

“Gabriel replaces Apkom in the squad which was involved on Saturday against West Ham.”
He only returned to training on Monday, which makes his inclusion even more peculiar. He is unlikely to be called upon unless there is an emergency, so let’s hope Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny are able to remain fit.
We already have a mammoth task ahead of us, and we need as many players as possible fit and firing.
Mertesacker was one of the main culprits during our 3-1 loss in the first leg, but the vice-captain should still keep his place for the crunch clash.
