The two first-team regulars had yet to complete 90 minutes this season, starting for the under-21 team in recent matches, but obviously being withdrawn well before the final whistle .
There is no doubt that with each of them completing their first full game this season, they have taken another big stride towards making their way back into the Arsenal first-team.

In terms of other injury news, it seems that Arsenal are now suffering somewhat of a goalkeeping crisis after Arsenal’s Polish shot-stoppers sustained fresh injuries.
Wojciech Szczesny has suffered an injury setback according to Goal.com and has been wearing a protective boot in order to speed up the recovery of his ankle injury that has so far kept him sidelined for a month. According to Goal, Szszesny is still approximately two or three weeks away from returning to training.

While the media have hyped this up to some huge injury crisis, I am optimistic that Vito Mannone will step up to the challenge as he tries to secure the number 1 spot from Szczesny.
The Italian, while not at all outstanding, has performed to a decent standard in the seven matches he has played this season and hopefully that will boost his confidence for the matches ahead.
