Arsenal’s reported move for Karim Benzema continues to drag on into the final weeks of the transfer window, and Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli claims that the Frenchman is set for a medical next week.
Arsenal are believed to have rented a Gulfstream private jet to accommodate Benzema on Sunday evening.

Giulianelli, who has written for a number of publications including The Guardian and FourFourTwo, has been bullish with regards to his commentary on the Benzema story.
It must be said though that the Italian reporter has consistently claimed that a deal to bring Benzema to Arsenal is close and given that no other outlet has backed up his recent claims, just where he’s getting this piece of information from is yet to be determined.
Arsene Wenger hinted in his pre-match press conference that he’s finding it difficult to convince a particular owner to sell, which indicates that Florentino Perez is not willing to allow Benzema to depart.

“For any deal, when you want to buy something you go to see the owner and if he doesn’t want to sell, he doesn’t want to sell. You cannot buy,” Wenger told reporters on Friday (via The Evening Standard).
In all likelihood, we’ll have to go into the new season with the squad we currently have which may not satisfy the majority of our fans.
With no outfield players signed by Wenger as of yet, we could be set for an unprecedented window.
