Alex Iwobi has admitted that losing Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to rival clubs would be a ‘huge setback’ to the Arsenal team (via The Sun).
After months of stories, the Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil sagas are far from finished despite the transfer window not opening for another two months.
Two of the club’s three record signings have been hugely influential players for the club since their respective arrivals in 2013 and 2014.
Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have the side built around them at the Emirates but both players are out of contract in the summer and both have thus far refused to sign new deals.
The pair are heavily linked with moves away and now, midfielder Alex Iwobi has given his thoughts on the prospect of losing the pair.

“When they are fit they are unstoppable. They are both capable of changing a game — or a season,” the 21-year-old told The Sun.
“They have a big decision to make. But it would be a huge setback to lose them because from the stats you can see we do need them for their goals and assists.
“For a team like Arsenal, we need to be aiming for the top four and we need what they bring.
“It will be great for them to stay. I’ve learnt a lot from them.
“Just the opportunity to even train with them has been amazing. They are two top-class players with great experience having played at the top level.”
Both players have highly influential roles at the Emirates and would represent a big loss to the team. However, should adequate replacements be signed then losing Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil could become an opportunity to push higher up the league.
