Alex Iwobi could possibly be set to leave Arsenal after the club reportedly opened talks with Galatasaray over a season-long loan for the 21-year-old.
According to Turkish outlet TakVim, Galatasaray’s sporting director Cenk Ergun has already met Arsenal officials to discuss a possible move and is ready to fly to London to seal the deal.
Iwobi enjoyed a fine campaign last season but is yet to start for the Gunners this campaign and it currently looks as though he may have to get used to life on the bench.
While the Nigeria international may be tempted by the offer of regular football, it remains to be seen whether he would be willing to leave Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger has admitted he needs to trim his squad, although he may not want to lose Iwobi with the futures of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Alexis Sanchez still far from certain.
Recent speculation has claimed the Ox will reject a new Arsenal deal, leaving the club vulnerable to offers, while Manchester City are expected to lodge a bid for Sanchez before the window closes.
Iwobi is a more than useful squad member but it seems there will definitely be outgoings before the transfer window closes and Wenger has plenty of decisions still to make.
