We have been regularly linked with a move for Manchester City contract rebel James Milner in the past, and with the England international seeming unlikely to sign an extension before the end of the season he will be available for free in the summer, as reported by the Guardian.

City have been doing their best to hold on to one of the few homegrown players left at the club, but it is believed the 29-year-old will end up either with us or at Liverpool come the end of the season.
The Manchester club obviously have the financial firepower to convince most players to stay, but Milner is allegedly keen to find regular football; something he is unlikely to get at the Etihad.
He arguably would’t get that at the Emirates either, with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all likely to be picked ahead of him. And while we could always use a little more depth, I’m not convinced that Milner is the way to go.

I am a huge fan of the former Aston Villa man, and admire his work-rate and professionalism. I can’t help but feel he would be no more than a squad player at any of the top four clubs however, and would struggle for regular first team action just as badly at Arsenal as he has done at Manchester City.
